The Jesus I Know

The Jesus I know is a warm, kind, friendly, tough, gentle and wonderful man. He has, in my view, all the wonderful characteristics we attribute to cherished grandfathers, dads, moms, brothers, sisters, church leaders, dear friends, and worthy heroes.

Discover Jesus

Virtually all committed Christians accept Jesus Christ as the Son of God, the Creator, the Holy Messiah, and the Savior of all mankind.

In a compassionate, relatable tone, The Jesus I Know looks at Christ’s life through eyes of those who sought Him as a means of healing and shows that we can experience this same kind of relationship and be a dear friend of Jesus Christ if we choose to do so.

Prominent Figures

Peter

Many of us have had experiences similar to Peter. We have tried to exercise great faith, only to be overcome by doubt and fear as we faced the realities of adversity, opposition and the stress of life. As Peter climbed into the ship with his robe soaking wet and his pride battered, he undoubtedly had a few moments to ponder his situation. Probably some of his friends put their arms around him, and perhaps one or two even snickered at his experience.

What others thought, however, did not matter. Unlike his colleagues, he had tried and briefly succeeded. He was alive, and though he may have been embarrassed, he proved his boldness, his faith and his leadership. From that hour, he was certainly much closer to the Son of God who had called him to be a "fisher of men" and saved him from being a long distance swimmer or a casualty of the sea and the elements.

Mother Teresa

If my measuring skills were accurate, I believe that Mother Teresa was not more than five feet tall and physically very small in stature. In that little lady, however, was a very powerful, loving, and determined spirit. Her care for the poor had become legendary, and after visiting and talking with her for a short time I came to know why. It was a cherished moment in my life to meet someone who was "…doing it unto the least of these my brethren."

Robert K Wolthuis

Robert is a native of Ogden, Utah, and is married to Carolyn Heiner.

He was employed for 30 years in the US Federal Government. His appointments included Legislative and Administrative Assistant to Senator Wallace F. Bennett, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense (Legislative Affairs), Special Assistant to President Gerald R. Ford, Deputy Director and Senior Foreign Policy and National Security Advisor with the US Senate Republican Policy Committee and Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense, Global Humanitarian Affairs.

A Note from the Author

In today’s world of evil terrorism, political chaos, declining personal values and seemingly permanent economic uncertainty, decent and good people justifiably wonder where they can turn for a few moments of peace and solace. I don’t claim to have all the answers for today’s social, moral and political mess, but I do offer a brief escape from it in my short treatise entitled “The Jesus I Know.” In this timely little book, I believe the reader will find some relevant wisdom, unique and welcome insight into today’s world, and a different look at the life of Jesus Christ, our Savior, who can also be a dear friend to anyone who will genuinely seek that friendship. I invite you to give it a look.
